Extended project, we will improve our App

UPDATE: The diagnostic App will be updated to work in the cloud with the data of the measures, using technologies and algorithms of Big Data and artificial intelligence. With this update we will make the App learn by itself, be able to increase the precision of the measurements and get a much more accurate diagnosis every day. All this under the supervision of the medical team and the technical team. We have increased the economic objective of this project to be able to undertake these improvements. Thanks for collaborating on the project !!! Keep in touch, you will see great news

Video about fasd presented at the EUFASD conference Berlin 2018

We are fathers and mothers of children with FASD, who collaborate with the GRIE research group of the Clinical Foundation for Biomedical Research (FCRB), Hospital Clinic de Barcelona, Maternitat. The GRIE investigates prenatal alcohol exposure and treatments that improve the lives of affected children (for example, study with an antioxidant). It is very important that the diagnosis of the affliction is made as early as possible. The GRIE has proposed the design of a mobile application to help professionals make the diagnosis.

The objective is to create a diagnostic App that facilitates medical professionals and psychologists to perform the screening of physical signs characteristic of the FASD:

Physical examination and pattern of facial anomalies. Somatometry (weight, height and cranial perimeter). In cases not sufficiently clear, the App will indicate the convenience of visiting an expert unit to complete the diagnosis.

The diagnosis must be completed with a neuropsychological evaluation to confirm the existence of cognitive and behavioral diagnostic disorders. The App also functions as an expert information system and includes graphical and visual reference data of all assessment parameters.

FASD

Foetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are a group of disorders that can occur in a person if his mother consumed alcohol during pregnancy. The FASD is underdiagnosed in our environment and a team of doctor + psychologist is needed in Primary Care There is a very high prevalence of TEAF in adopted children from Eastern Europe (more than 3,000 only in Madrid) There are also cases of undiagnosed TEAF in supervised children.
